Ingredients:
- carrot (gajar) : 2 grated
- curd (dahi) : 250 gm
- salt : salt to taste
- charcoal : 1 piece
- black salt (kala namak) : 1/2 teaspoon
- red chili powder (lal mirch powder) : 1/2 teaspoon
- mustard oil (sarso oil) : 1 teaspoon
Method:
- put kadhai on gas stove and warm it
- first boil carrot, for that, add 1/2 cup of water and add carrot
- cover the lid and boil carrot for 5-7 min on low flame
- after 5-7 min, carrot is boiled and leave it to cool down
- add curd, 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder, 1/2 teaspoon black salt, salt to taste, in carrot and mix well
- for smokey flavour- firstly put a charcoal piece on low flame, warm it( till it becomes red)
- turn off the gas and put the charcoal piece in a steel bowl
- now place steel bowl in kadhai and add 1 tablespoon on mustard oil and cover it instantly, leave it for 5-7 min
- after 5-7 min remove the steel bowl and mix well
- smoky flavoured carrot(gajar) raita is ready to serve
