Ingredients:

  • carrot (gajar) : 2 grated
  • curd (dahi) : 250 gm
  • salt : salt to taste
  • charcoal : 1 piece
  • black salt (kala namak) : 1/2 teaspoon
  • red chili powder (lal mirch powder) : 1/2 teaspoon
  • mustard oil (sarso oil) : 1 teaspoon

Method: 
  •  put kadhai on gas stove and warm it
  • first boil carrot, for that, add 1/2 cup of water and add carrot
  • cover the lid and boil carrot for 5-7 min on low flame
  • after 5-7 min, carrot is boiled and leave it to cool down
  • add curd, 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder, 1/2 teaspoon black salt, salt to taste, in carrot and mix well
  • for smokey flavour- firstly put a charcoal piece on low flame, warm it( till it becomes red)
  • turn off the gas and put the charcoal piece in a steel bowl
  • now place steel bowl in kadhai and add 1 tablespoon on mustard oil and cover it instantly, leave it for 5-7 min
  • after 5-7 min remove the steel bowl and mix well
  • smoky flavoured carrot(gajar) raita is ready to serve
